Hi

Sorry for the radio silence. Tizzy is in France w/ the husby right now, and well I was just busy/lazy the last couple of days. Nothing is going on really, but the weather has turned warm again and I am excited for that. This weekend is my friends Derby party. I haven't been able to attend the last two or three years, so I am very excited, I bought a new hat for the occasion. So that's what's going on with me. Pretty boring I will try to come up with more.

The Wedding

WAS SOOOOOOOOO MUCH FUN!!!!! Tizzy, the ya-ya's, and basically everyone there had a BLAST. The bride was a cool customer. No freak outs, no anxiety, just happiness excitement, fun, and love. The whole day was great, but the party was a PARRRR-TAY. Honestly one of the most fun weddings I have ever been to. And proof they had a photobooth. Oh My God (all the groom's danish friends were making fun of how much we said that) we had a great time. Here is a list of things that held in my clevage throughout the night....What can I say I never seemed to have enough hands.

1) Lighter
2) Room keys
3) Handkercheif
4) Bouquet?
5) Camera

Want Need Must-Have

This dress for spring. I mean Cam looks Amazeballs here! Look at how the color makes her eyes pop. Sidenote I have blue eyes too, so I think the same would happen for me. I wish I had found this dress for the rehearsal dinner tonight! Do you think Cameron Diaz has ditched Rachel Zoe as her Stylist? She has been looking different style wise since the Oscars. She looks great but it is definitely a new direction for her.

Clear eyes, Full Hearts . . .

Tizzy is leaving for Chicago tommorrow!
It's full on wedding celebration time for us.

We shall  be sending one of our besties down the aisle and off to wedded bliss.
I am certain these events will include lots of love, champagne and dancing.

I keep getting tears in my eyes thinking about this wedding.
How happy I am for my friend.
I can't wait to be there and give her a big hug myself.

This is her hugging me on my wedding day.
It's one of my favorite pictures.
I just know exactly how she feels.
It's also so great that she's holding two cameras.

Can't wait to be home and celebrating!

This made me l-o-l

Below is an excerpt from a guy describing his 10 hour voyage on a megabus to reconnect with a long distance love.

I was not a model bus citizen. For one, I was dressed like a lunatic: overcoat, sweatpants, T-shirt, boots. This was not the outfit of a man on a mission for love. I was dressed like this not because I like to make others uncomfortable, but because the voyage would take 10 hours and I wanted to maximize comfort.

I don't know why I find this so hilarious, but the phrase I was dressed like a lunatic is making me chuckle right now. Because a)he was there is no better description for that outfit. and b) I have dressed like a lunatic before for long travels/early trips. At the time you are pulling clothes out of your closet it seems like a good idea, then once you have arrived at the airport/bus terminal/train stop you look around and realize you should never put these items of clothing together, and wonder why you are the only traveler who couldn't pull together comfortable clothes that actually look like an outfit. Case in point my recent trip to Cabo when I had to be at the airport at 3am. I wore my running shoes (because you know I was going to workout on vacation??? Didn't happen once) paired with skinny jeans(cause who doesn't bring at least one pair of jeans per day when traveling to a warm climate) all topped off by my red puffer coat (because the cab showed up early, it was before 2:30am and I just grabbed something). Tizzy and I laughed about this look for at least a day.

Ohh la la . . .

It's celebrity crush time here at TN'L
and today I am loving Kate Bosworth.

This girl knows how to knock it out of the park on the red carpet.
I like the simple color choices and shapes.
I also adore how sometimes she glams it up and other times she seems very casual.

I think she looks just as great in real life without the fancy red carpets.

But these following two are by far my favorites.
Be still my beating heart.
But also I think very attainable for the average gal.

Volcanic Ash Cloud . . .

Dear Random Forces of Nature -

I know it is not for me to decide when and where you pop up your head.
But you've chosen a really bad time.
Aren't these two just fantastic?

If you knew them you couldn't help but love them.
And they love each other - a lot.
So much in fact - they want to get married.

I know they would like to do so in the pressence of their family and friends.
With many people coming from Europe -
you have chosen a most inopportune time to form and hang around.

Please disperse or clear or blow away.
It would be greatly appreciated.
I'll even drink a glass of champagne in your honor at their wedding.

Much Love and Respect -
Tizzy

Right on Ralph!

Be the real you
+++++++++++++++++++

Let life know who you are. If you have to hide yourself to
get what you want, do you really even want it?

And while you’re at it, make sure you let yourself know who
you are. Be absolutely honest and authentic, especially with
yourself.

It’s easy to get what you want from life. The real difficult
and essential work is figuring out what that is.

If you think it might be nice, that’s not enough. If it
looks good on somebody else, that’s not enough.

What you truly want is what you dearly love. It is something
that uniquely and elegantly expresses the real, live,
passionate person you are.

You cannot find that or follow it by pretending to be who
you’re not. Be the real you, all the time, and joyfully feel
the flow of your own great abundance.

Today

Below is my horoscope today. It is a beautiful 80 degree day here in Chicago and I am meeting a friend for happyhour/dinner at one of my fav beer gardens. Loving my horoscope.

April 15, 2010
Here's your Tarot Reading for today, Lish:

Love Touchstone Career

The Sun The Emperor The Devil

Today
You're a real joy to be with today, Maura! Your face and eyes are illuminated by your joy of life and by love. This is largely due to the flamboyant association between the Emperor and the Sun, who have a powerful, benign influence on all affairs of the heart. There is not a jota of a doubt to cloud your invincible faith in a love that is sincere and ever lasting. If you're single, be prepared for an encounter that's going to change your life. And this time, you're really going to believe in it! At work, you'll be a tyrant! Woe betide anyone who doesn't follow your rules and methods of working. As indicated by the alliance of the Devil and the Emperor, there's simply no room for discussion. But does this mean you're going to miss the boat? Not at all! You're filled with such incredible strength you'll be able to scale any heights.

True Story

I have actually been in this position in my life before.

The best excuse I've ever heard for an across the body purse strap.

Because shaking your ass with a clutch in hand or chain bag on your shoulder is uncomfortably awkward. At midnight, you deal with it.

But come 4 am, when you awake in some shady-ass apartment-turned-speakeasy-turned-dance-party, and Ms. Gaga has WTF popped out of the radio, is grabbing your arms in her crazy claws and singing for you to “JUST DANCE,” you ditch your purse. You just do.
[And then you lose it, natch.]

This advice is compliments of vie at www.theviesociety.tumblr.com. She is always good for practical advice like this. She also made me take up the phrase amazeballs.

Inexplicably Happy

That's me lately. I have been feeling happier in the last couple of weeks than I have in Years. Is it the new job, sure that has to be part of it. Is it the unseasonably great weather we have been having, yup that's a factor too. But mostly I think it has to do with my new attitude. I am calling this the year of YES. If someone asks me to do something or invites me somewhere I am saying yes. I am not in school anymore and I had just gotten in such a habit of having to say no. It had become almost second nature. So much so that I had to name a year after it and make a concerted effort to not say NO. I'm having the time of my life so watch out world a huge bellowing laugh and an inappropriate statement is heading your way.

PS: Stylish older sister the yes does not pertain to babysitting. That's a no, unfortunately (for you) I am being selfish these days.

Hot times with Hotcakes . . .

Tizzy and Hotcakes

Friday Night Husband and I met our friends Hotcakes and her Hubby out for dinner.
Well drinks and then more drinks and then dinner.
Somehow whenever we're out with these two we always end up one place -
Momofuku Milk Bar -
or as I like to call it heaven.

This was our order on Friday night -
one crack pie, one candy bar pie, one grasshopper pie
and a red velvet and cream cheese frosting frozen yogurt.
Oh my lord - it was delicious
and the sugar high and pandemonium that ensued was breathtaking.

Hotcakes and I wanted our picture taken with our brilliant order - crack pie and candy bar pie.
By far the best and we know this because we aren't rookies when it comes to baked goods.

At first we tried to take it with her iphone which was a big FAIL.
Then Husband's trusty blackberry came out and the picture above was snapped.
When we asked how it looked all Hotcakes Hubby could say was,
"ahh, it's a little close"

This is what came afterwards.

Don't I look so proud of myself?  It's the crack pie high.

I have no explanation for this.
What can I say I shouldn't be allowed to eat sugar unsupervised.

Hooray for Pinky . . .

My mom always made birthdays a big deal for us.
The breakfast room would be decorated with streamers and we would get cinammon rolls for breakfast.
That night our grandparents would come over and we would get princess cakes.
In college one year she drove 3 hours to deliver my princess cake.
The next morning we would get to eat cake for breakfast.
We love cake.

Today I'm sending all my love to Pinky and thinking about all the fantastic things she has taught me.
1) Never, ever leave your sister/family
2) Be nice to everyone - especially the people other people are not nice too
3)Never get a tattoo
4)Disco dancing in the kitchen is both aerobic and fun
5)You can create immeasurable beauty from the things no one else wants at the garage sale
6) Girls don't drink beer (all right this one I have to diagree with)
 7) Running over a couple curbs never hurt anyone.  We always got there safe and on time.
8) Having pets is the same as extending love and family.

A big kiss and lots of chocolate cake for you, Pinky!
I love you.
