Hooray for . . .

I love this chic!
And today is her birthday.
Wish she was here and we were eating this together.
(Instead she's having a mani/pedi party and Lish is there)
((Can you tell I'm soooo jealous?!?!?!)

Her birth is one of the most significant events in my life.
I can remember every instant of that day.
How blessed I am to have to her.

Happy Birthday, girl!
Text me!

Lord, help me . .

Dear God,
Halloween is this week.
I mistakenly picked up my candy on saturday.
What was I thinking?
At this rate there will be nothing left for the children.
Please help me.
Grant me the strength to grab a handful of carrots  -
rather than the delicious chocolate I really want.
You're the best.
xoxo

Hmmmmm

Interesting concept. Not sure I believe that, I think if you have enemies that means you have probably done something wrong. But I can see how an outspoken, unapologetic public figure could feel that way.

Blast from the past . . .

So today I did what I have been putting off for a couple weeks.
Flipped my closets and put away all my summer stuff.
While it's fun to get out my fall clothes -
feels just like I went shopping.

It's even better to dig out the hidden gems I have in storage.
Do you do this too?
There are certain clothes that I just can't get rid of.

Here's a little trip down memory lane.

High school gym shorts.
Can not get rid of these.
Don't know why.
Don't know how they stayed up.
They're a large with a 42" waist.
I'm no skinny minny - but that's a big waist.

Overalls from college.
Ugh, what were we thinking?
Would you believe that I had multiple pairs of overalls?
These are the pair I chose to keep.

Even crazier to think that this is how I used to dress when Husband and I first started dating.
I don't know why I can't get rid of these.
Looks like I should be heading out to a Salt N' Peppa videoshoot.

And finally, the piece de resistance
(In my mind at least)

The Bootcut Leather Pants from my single days.
You probably recognize them if you spent anytime in the bars of Lincoln Park from say 1999 - 2002.
I swear they have an 18 inch zipper on the fly and sit oh so fashionably just below the belly button.
They are leather mom jeans for goodness sakes.

But to get a better idea of just how high these bad boys are -
I found a shirt that I adored from right around this same period.
Good thing I held onto it - it's from Rampage.

I was a looker - what can I say.
This is what I used to wear out right around the same time that Husband chose to marry me.
Ugh, what was he thinking?!?

Sometimes Husbands are . . .

Completely and utterly hilarious.

I was leaving work late on Monday
when I received this email from Husband.

In the subject line was:
Are you with me?

The emails unfolds as such:

Tizzy-
So I was reading the WSJ today and they had this blurb on fat America
with various charts of BMI (body mass index) readings/cut-offs for overweight,
obese and severely obese people.  Of course, there are issues with the BMI
index (for example, a body builder would be severly obese).  That said, I was
surprised with the results.  I am considered overweight.

Perhaps I am buffer than the average dude.  Perhaps not.  I asked Scott where he
stood.
Scott is 5"10" and weighs 158 lbs with a 31" waist.
I am 5'10" (on a good day), weigh 175 and have a 33" waist.

Whoa fat boy!

Clearly, the results do not jive well with my 30-days to buffness program.  Time
to step it up a notch.  I am targeting cutting 10 lbs within the next 30 days to
get back down to my fighting weight.  My plan will include a combination of diet
and excercise.

Perhaps not the best time for you to join my fight against Mr. Blubber, but will
you support my endeavor?  I need your help.  I need to take the fight right to
Mr. Blubber's turf...the kitchen.  I figure if I can cut him off at the source,
the battle is already half won.  That means no ice cream, Doritos, pizza,
fast
food
, burgers, fries (or other fried deliciousness), etc.

So Tizzy, can I count on your support in my fight against the fatties?

What a Great IDEA

I am always looking for ways to organize my necklaces. No matter what I have done they always end up tangling together, with knots for the shorter lighter weight chains, or so you can't see half of them all jumbled together. This wall hook idea genius.

What did you do this weekend?

We went hiking here.
Can you believe this tranquility is only an hour outside NYC?

Even brought a little mascot who charged up the rocky path in nothing flat.

I love the Fall.

Crystalball edition 1

This picture is both a look back while peering through your crystal ball 40 or 50 years. See this woman is on the Highline. This is one of the things I mentioned doing while in NYC last weekend with Tizzy. So if you back it up to last Saturday then look through your Crystalball 40 or 50 years your looking at Lish! Except I will probably be wearing less prints, I am more or a solids kind of girl, but I'm working on it.

What is this you see....

Bearing Down behind Enemy Lines

Tizzy N Lish together again!!!! And doing their home town proud by Bearing down in NYC. Let me tell you it wasn't as easy as it seems those Giants fans are ruthless.

Tizzy called me a week ago, the husby had gotten tickets to Bears vs Giants game in NYC last Sunday. I booked a flight pronto. Not to only see the Bears. Mostly to see Tizzy, but it was a good excuse. While we were there we had many brunches, walked the Highline, Beared down, and had my most favorite meal of all time in NYC at a Restaurant called Bobo, if you are ever in the area check it out. Almost missed my flight home and had to RUN through the terminals at JFK. Seriously I was the last person on the flight, and everyone was already seated. Oh yeah and in case you're worried don't be - I also managed to purchase many cute accessories off the street.

Food Coma at Bobo

Miss you already Tizzy. It went by too fast!!!
