Someone in the crowd yelling HOORAY for . . .

More Stylish Sister!!!!!

We have spent a lifetime looking up to you.

And wanting to be just like you.

You have suffered us gladly -
while selling us your clothes -
and teaching us all of your tricks.

But beyond what you have taught us.
Are the people you have given us.

And we want you to know how fantastic you are -
you are not only an incredible friend,
a hilarious mother,
a supportive and kind sister,
but most importantly the best girl to turn to -
in times of tears or cheers.

As you often say -
No one loves you more than me us.

I don't like to dance.

I just don't. I know most people love it. Even bad dancers look like they are they are having a great time. I on occasion do enjoy to dance, but most of the time I don't. When talking to friends about it (mostly when they are trying to get me on the dance floor) they say I am a good dancer. I just don't feel the joy and glee that most others feel while dancing. This doesn't mean that I am having a bad time hanging by the bar watching everyone else. So don't feel bad for me. I am enjoying myself watching you dance I promise. If I wasn't I would leave. The irony of the whole thing is I am chronic car dancer. I bop my home from work everynight.

Can you even stand it . . .

Bravo, ladies!!
Knocking it out of the park!
Every single one of you.
I am seething with anticipation.

All this great style has me thinking -
what am I going to wear to the movie?

I'll be attending a 9:15am showing with More Stylish Sister.
I don't care if I am walking through a mall at 9:00am.
I'm going to rock out with my socks out.

Here's what I'm thinking:
I'll be channeling Vanessa Paradis in St. Tropez for the Chanel resort collection.

Loose waves, floaty white top and slim black cigarette pants.
Oh yeah and these:

Ohhh, the glamour!
See you there!

Things I wished I said

I just read a blog entitled Guy Confessions:12 things I wish I had said to my girlfriends. They included some doozies like I wish I had been more upfront about my pet allergies. I wished death on your pets everyday we were together. And I wish I hadn't said I loved you when we were drunk, you were right I didn't mean it. Ouch. It got me thinking what do I wish I would have said to some of my exes. So here it is.

1) You kicked me when I was down, it was completely unnecessary which is why no I don't want to be your friend.

2)I think you have a drinking problem. It is the stem of all our problems.

3) I don't want to be casual. I want you to either be with me or not be.

4) I can't help you through this relationship hiccup with your new girl. I know we are still friends, but it is too hard on me.

5) Just cause you are not "there" yet. Doesn't mean you won't get "there". Keep your head up you are an amazing person. And please stop self destructing at each tiny set back. This sets you even farther back.

6)Thanks for being there for me right now even if you are not with me right now. I really needed you.

7)We can all see the bald spot in the back.

8)I don't think our chemistry is right, and there is no amount of experimentation that is going to fix that.

9)I'm just not a yes girl. If you are looking for some to stroke your ego ALL day every day, and agree with EVERYTHING you say, you have the wrong girl.

10)Your actions don't match your words. Which is why I have to go now.

Hello, Summer . . .

Photography by Nina Leen. Found on flickr.

Are you guys ready?
Memorial Day is my mind the official start of summer!
Bring on the pool, the beach, the ball games.
Bring it.

This could be More Stylish Sister, Tizzy and Lish this weekend.
Stripes and flips -
I do believe this is the era I should have been rocking.

I'm a sucker for a fabulous sun hat.
And these are all fabulous.

What are you rocking at the beach these days?

Interesting

Your horoscope for May 19, 2010
Don't let another day go by without patting your back for being the incredible person you are, Lish. It could be that your constant striving for perfection leaves you always striving but never satisfied with all the work you've done and the person you really are. Remember that the cleanliness of your house is not a reflection of the cleanliness of your soul. Give yourself a break and don't blame things on others.

This is my horoscope for today. It's funny because I do say that I believe one of the human conditions is to focus on what you haven't accomplished as opposed to what you have accomplished. Maybe it's not the human condition, maybe it is just MY condition. I have been working crazy hours the last 2-3 weeks. I feel like there is a lot that I haven't gotten done or had time to get to. I'm deciding from this point forward I am giving myself a break from that frame of mind. I mean hello my horoscope is telling me to. Oh and it's really funny that it mentioned the cleanliness of my home, because this morning I was thinking how dirty my home was and how I NEEDED to clean, but have been putting other things first. Another thing on the not accomplished list! Oh well dusty bunnies don't actually harm you as much as they annoy.

Sigh....

I love all these looks. If I were a size zero THIS is how I would wear tweed. Also that silver mini.....I mean it's LOVE. Unfortunately for me, I am just too old to wear a skirt that short. Sigh, tear.

Can you imagine . . .

If this was your commute?
Seems so much more peaceful than taking the subway or dealing with stinky cabs.

Morning rush hour in the 4th largest city in the Netherlands.
Streets look like this when 33% of ALL trips are made by bicycle!

This is an ordinary Wednesday morning in April 2010 at around 8.30 am.
Original time was 8 minutes that were compressed into 2 minutes,
so everything is 4 times faster than in reality. The sound is original.

This is one of the busiest junctions in Utrecht a city with a population of 300,000.
No less than 18,000 bicycles and 2,500 buses pass here every day.
And yet Google Street View missed it. Because private motorized traffic is restricted here.

These cyclists cross a one way bus lane (also used by taxis and municipal vehicles),
two light rail tracks and then a one way street that can be used by private vehicles.

Behind the camera is a railway (you can hear the squeaking sounds of the trains passing)
and the main railway station is very close too.
A number of rental bikes from the station pass and many of the cyclists
will have come by train for the first part of their commute

On the prowl...

That's the best way to describe my shopping habits.
I am a proud and committed discount shopper.
If it's not on sale or I can't get a discount -
it's practically impossible for me to buy it.

I blame, or actually can thank my mother.
Her skills are unmatched when it comes to sniffing out a deal.
Really, trully - unmatched.

Since it's gray and rainy here in NYC
I decided to 'stroll' the racks at some of my favorite haunts online.
Look at the bonanza that it waiting for you out there.
Remember how I loved this dress?

It can now be mine for almost half the cost!

Perfect summer dress - run errands, head out on the town.
I think this guy can go/do anything.
Hence the name, I'm sure.

Another great option for an easy, breezy summer.

I'd pair it with gold sandals accessories.
Loved the graphite and gold combo at Miss Amanda's wedding.
Am really quite obsessed with it.

LOVE this color.
But it's also in black and a seafoam blue.
I can't NOT think of place this would go.

Doesn't this shirt just make you want to go on a picnic?
I sure do.
I also think it would be cute to throw over the jcrew dress.

Sigh, be still my heart.
Love the color and the contrast ribbon.
Totally spicing up your standard cardigan.

$10 for that fantastic flower pin?
Just try and beat More Stylish Sister there.
Also in black and grey - HOLLA!

No need to wrestle up a cowboy
when this belt provides all the rope tricks you could need!

$20!!
Let me repeat - $20!!!!!

Has a canvas bag ever looked so fine!?!

When you need to bring some serious bling.

Just a little bauble to brighten your day.

I swoon for this chunky monkey bracelet.

I'm having an issue

With my blackberry, ever since starting my new job it's been a real issue because I get my work e-mail on it now. I don't like how if I delete or file an e-mail on my desktop it doesn't delete or file the message on my BB. My contract is up in July and I want to stay with my provider, I get good reception everywhere but I can't keep spending 30 mins a day organizing my BB. I don't know what new phone I want. I just know I want a keyboard not a touchscreen. Any suggestions.

The Remnants . . .

I think when you have a really good time -
Sometimes all hell breaks loose.
And as gorgeous and planned as a table might be at the beginning of an evening.
The way it looks at the end is often a better read on the night.

I laugh everytime I look at the following pictures.
The first is from this past NYE.
We had a fantastic time -
Can't you tell?!?

How much fun does Lish's birthday look like?
I'll tell ya - lots.

We started out lovely at the Rehearsal Dinner . . .

But then drank everything we could get our hands on and it turned into this . . .

And lastly, Husband and I are big fans of indoor picnics on vacation.
This was our last one in Paris.

Don't you want to pull up a chair and join in on the fun?
Now that's the mark of an excellent night out.
(or in.)
