Success-ories!!!

Some of my favorite leading ladies were well, misses last night on the Oscar red carpet. My keen eye wasn't at it's best lastnight because I didn't even realize that the women who wore some of my least favorite dresses, had on some of my favorite jewels.

Reese Witherspoon's Hand, double art-deco diamond bracelet's, and an emerald ring Glamourous.

ScarJo's Ring, can we say colorful cocktail.

Marissa Tomei's Bracelet, Ornate, Colorful, Interesting

Nicole Kidman's Necklace, hello!

And the winners are . . .

Celine Dion in Armani Prive

Gwyneth Paltrow in Calvin Klein

Sandra Bullock in Vera Wang

Bravo, ladies.  Bravo.
I thought the rest of the Oscar's were pretty boring.
Except for these guys.
They were awesome.

Do you know your pattern?

Your weight pattern? I know mine. I lose weight in the winter, keep it off in the summer, and BAM once laborday hits it's all down hill. See it goes Laborday, my birthday, Halloween, Thanksgiving, X-mas, followed by New Years. All holidays that call for copious consumption. In case you're wondering yes, laborday because it is essentially a good bye to summer party weekend that includes bbq's, streetfests, and your last time at your favorite al fresco restaurants.

I had a friend ask me how I could lose weight in the winter that's when she gains. It's very simple really, for me, I work out a lot and eat well in the winter because I am staying in more, since bbbrrrrrr it's cold outside. I cook and therefore eat less, and well better, instead of digging my car out of a snow mound, or braving the below zero temps. I go to the gym more often to avoid spending hours sitting or laying on my couch since, I'm staying in. The summer I usually maintain the weight loss by long runs outside to enjoy the weather. Eat lots of salads, and fresh veggies, and fruits. Then BAM the fall hits and it's an adjustment to get back in the routine of packing a bag and going to the gym. The eating we've already talking about. And that's it here comes the weight.

I can't believe Tizzy didn't post this

She's loving yellow dresses lately, I can't believe she hasn't posted this. Although maybe it's more tangerine.

BBBRRRRRRRR

It's like freaking freezing again here in Chicago. Brrrrrr, so cold all day, my nose has somehow never managed to warm up all day. You know how that happens, and once it does, that's it your done. All hope of getting warm is over until your nose gets warm. But I figured if I have to be cold I could at least look good doing it. If you want to look luxe and fabulous this is IT to me. Fur, sequins, and metalic tweed. Check, check, and check. Pair with a suede large clutch for one more element of texture and voila luxe and winter at it's best.

Am I the only one . . .

Who really wants a pair of hot pink pants?

Look what came to live with me . . .

Isn't she a beauty?
Never till I saw it in Whole Foods did I realize that Stephanotis was a plant.
Now I do and she's all mine.
And she smells delicious.

Can you even believe?!?

That this little slice of heaven was NYC yesterday?
Hello! It's February for goodness sake.

I hope your weekend is filled with unexpected surprises just like this.
Who'd of thought I'd be sporting a tank top for a run in FEBRUARY!!

Happy Weekend!

My Latest Obsession

Is songs with Piano's in them. More specifically women's voices and piano's. Bruno Mars can suck it in my book. I have been completely obsessed with it lately, not 100% sure why. Maybe I am just feeling jealous that I don't know how to play. I never got lessons growing up. I spoke a WHILE ago (maybe close to a year) that I need a hobby, and one of the more realistic ones I came up with but never acted on was piano lessons. Please watch this video of Adele and just a piano. I mean you will totally get what I'm talking about. Gorgeous!

Oh and not for nothing, I think they look super cool as decor. Hello baby grand in the corner of my non-existent great room, overlook a lush green lawn and a lake.

Maybe I've been snowbound . . .

for too long.
Plus Husband sprang the coop and went back to the land of mountains.

So as I turned to the world wide web
I found more inspirations for Lish's wedding.
I've got 2 very different ideas today.

Here's the first -
and the jumping off point for that.

(Elie Saab)

Be still my heart.
These are 2 different dresses but I'd take any and all.
Plus don't you looooove the gray-shimmer-silver.

Now since all this is highly impractical
wouldn't this dress be perfect for this location

Tons of sparkly candles and chandeliers at Versailles.
Holla!!!

I'm picturing winter or New Year's Eve maybe.
And there for sure needs to be some fur like from these vintage wedding pictures.

Now to switch gears entirely.
What about small and simple under a tree?
This wedding is in Ireland.

And I'm picturing a clutch of friends of family just standing under the tree.
Not even formal enough for the chairs.
Just a circle of love and hope
propelling the couple forward.

How about this little number from Anthropologies new bridal line?

Again a little bit of the past to lead us to the future.
Plus we have lots of nieces and nephews and I'm sure we could dress them up as pilgrims.
Kinda makes me want to kick my heels up.

You may not know this about me

But I live for a wrap dress. Okay actually 90% of the people viewing this do know that I love a wrap dress. Anyway I am loving this fresh new take on it. It seems so flowy and light. I like the ruffle detail at the collar, and the color, the light fabric. For some reason wrap dress always makes me think Jersey, and usually a tank underneath in case it wraps too low. Expect to see me rocking this in the spring/summer.

Is it soooooooo wrong

To want the outfit off a 19 year olds back? I'm 33 by the way. I think we all know the answer to this question, and it's yes. But I like to think that if it were maybe a smidge or several inches longer the answer would be no.

These may not be practical BUT.....

They sure are Pretty. I'm almost 100% sure I would never actually wear a diamond face mask. I am 100% sure however that I would not be able to function with the jeweled fingertips on.

Happy! Happy!

I'm not a huge Valentines person -
but I do love the sentiment.
And what's not to love about chocolate and flowers?

Today I'd like to say thank you to my family.
They have always blazed a brilliant path in love, committment and marriage.
How lucky I am to have learned from the best.

And for Husband -
I still feel as giddy and happy as I did at this very moment.
Thank you for that.

 xoxo
Tizzy

From Greige to White . . .

Poor little puppers.
All the sand and salt and gunk from the winter
has turned her puffy white coat to a stinky greige.
Here's her journey back.

I know it's so hard to stay clean in the winter
Life is not easy for an all white dog.
I don't care what you read.
I'm not happpy about this one bit.
What's wrong with being greige?
Maybe I can shake this soap off?!?
 Someone, please.
Send for help.

That's it I'm out of here.

Now this is living.
I don't think Tizzy and Husband baby me at all.
Why would you think that?
Wait.
Is that a hair dryer in your hands?
Can't we talk about this?
Your nuts.
I'm outta here.
I know.
I am looking cute.
It's the genes - what can I say?
I love bones.
It's been a stressful morning.
No more pictures.
I need a nap.

Happy Weekend!

Not to put too fine a line on it . . .

It's house hunting season for Tizzy N' Husband.
We're desperate to move out of our glamorous 600 square feet of fun.
Can hardly believe we've managed to stay married for the 6 years
we've called this nutshell home.

Please send prayers or smoke signals
keep your fingers crossed or do a little dance.
Just let us find something and purchase it.
Approximately 3 seconds before someone else decides they want it too.
(Unfortunately, our last effort was 3 second too late.)

Being a dreamer and a schemer I have about million 'tear sheets'
for that day when I do have a home to do up.
Here's what I'm thinking today.

Welcome!
For some reason I'm obsessed with iron railings.

Please have a seat in the living room

(sans columns - a bit too fancy for me)

Let me just run into the bar and grab you a drink
(A girl can dream, right?)

What's that delicious smell?
Let's pop into the kitchen to see what Husband is whipping up!

Frozen pepperoni pizza and brownies?!?!
How lucky are we!
That's just my favorite dish ever!
(and side note what I made for dinner on Tuesday)
I know just the place to really enjoy these culinary masterpieces

( Side side note - I especially like this dining room because
it seems like more than just a formal space for Thanksgiving dinner)

Let me just pop into the powder room to freshen up a bit.

What's that?!?
The Housewives are on.
Quick to the den!

Thanks for stopping by!
