Is that a fruit salad I smell? Says the person standing next Lish. Why no, it's not, it's me. Replies Lish.
That is a scene I expect to have happen any minute now. I just realized that my winter face lotion, along with the chapstick I use both have a very distinct, pineapplie, coconut, island breezy smell to it. The face lotion I knew about, but I can't use lotion with oil in it, and this is the only one I have found which keeps me from drying out in the winter. The chapstick must have added this passionfruit smell recently. All I know is in the morning whilst getting ready I have a very distinct moment of wanting to head off to Hawaii. It's a bit overwhelming, but maybe it's just me who can smell it.

Guess who's back!!!
Have you missed me!?!?!
Seriously, how funny is this picture.
What's with my face?
Here's the practice shots
Took me a couple tries to realize I was blocking my face.
Although with that mug on the top - maybe it was a good thing.
Husband took these during a hike in Vermont.
It was starting to rain and I would totally have done some more but he wanted to move on.
Seriously, what's with my face?
My deepest apologies for the radio silence.
Just couldn't get my act together and I've been working more than I want.
Would you believe that I'm rocking out to Baby by Justin Bieber right now?
I swear to god this is the first time I've ever heard it.
It's catchy, yeah I get it.
But that kid drives me nutso.
Oh thank the lord, he comes Ke$has with Tik Tok.
That's totally my jam.
And I have these little beauties because of a little disc I just got from the library:
Now that's What I Call Music 33
These discs totally speak to the B9er6er in me.
I highly recommend that you listen to them in the morning on the way to work.
Works for me.
All right, enough ramblings.
I won't be away this long again.
I'm sorry.

Two words that should not go together
Stretch.....Satin.
Fashion week is upon us, and while reading the different coverage, and clips it made me think of my most hated trend of late. People in stretch satin dresses. And here's why, even if you have a great body and are in top physical condition. The sheen of the satin will reflect any small teeeennnnyyyy tiny flaw in your body. I find that many people wear this fabric because they are bamboozled by the stretch, they think it's comfy and look how easily it zipped, it totally fits. And that same sheen that is spotlighting your flaws no matter how tiny or large is somehow a reflective device when said garmet is being viewed in a mirror. The sheen somehow blinds us from seeing what it is spotlighting for everyone else. Whether that be the doughnut sized ring it reflects around your belly button (which would go TOTALLY unnoticed in any other fabric), or the line it is cutting across your back from your underwear (eventhough you DON'T have a muffin top in any other article of clothing) and I can't even get into what it does to cellulite (which by the way we ALL have to some degree). I honestly think someone should write a memo/note to Nicole Miller wonderful designer, constant offender of the strecth satin, and implore her to just use Satin. Leave the stretch at home.

Quote of the day
"How we spend our days is, of course, how we spend our lives."
-Annie Dillard
Interesting, and true, so how did you spend your day yesterday. A couple of insights from my day yesterday that I find hopeful, funny, and true.
I spent yesterday not smoking. I recently quit and I like that I can change how I spend my life, and say that I am going to spend the rest of it not smoking.
I went for a run yesterday, and three quarters of the way got a bad stomach and had to rush home. I feel like this is totally true too in terms of the quote. I try to work out, and something always comes up that makes it never be as much as I want it to be. Wether it't the results I'm getting, or my back gets tweaked again. It seems like there is always something.
I only got three out of the four "errand/chores" done that I wanted to get done yesterday. But I saw the housewives reunion. I maybe don't always finish things on my to do list. But I do always make time for things that I want, even if they are semi-stupid.

Am I expecting too much
from customer service these days. I have a couple of instances in the last week. First there was a book everyone has been raving about, but my shelves are busting at the seams so I decided to start using the public library. I search online to see if any of the branches near me have it. One does, I go in to get it. It's not on the shelf, so I ask the person at the reference desk if it is still available, letting him know I had checked online before coming in. He looks it up says it show being available, and goes to look in the back somewhere. He comes back a couple minutes later, and snaps at me I can't find it. I was a little shocked by his tone so I repeated what he said back to him. To which he replies that's right, there are thousands of books of here, you expect me to find that one. I said okay, and left but what I was thinking was...Yes, I do, because that's your job. And if you can't at least lie to me, and say it may have been checked out, or placed on hold the computer sometimes takes a little while to update. Or one of the other librarians may have it in their restocking pile. Give me something besides there are thousands of books here. I know that, I am standing in a library so it's obvious.
Then I just had to go to Staples to pick up new toner for our stamp machine. I looked it up online to make sure it was something Staples carried in the stores, not just online. I get there and realize I wrote down the machine model # and not the toner #. I go to the helpdesk to see if they can help me figure out which one I need. The guy starts off with the fact that he has never even heard of what I am talking about. I explain I looked it up online and here are the keywords, it's multipurpose etc. He then takes me over to the register area. They have all the toners along that wall. Okay great I can just peruse them, and I would know by box, and details. Nope they don't let customers behind this area. The wall that they are on is a good 4 to 6 feet from where I am allowed to be. I can't see any of the writing on the boxes. So I say can we look this up. He replies if you tell me which one you need. I tell him what I have all over again, and he goes into the whole I don't even know what that is. Which okay if it were 1985 totally understandable for the customer service person at the help desk to not be able to figure out what I am talking about. But seeing as it is 2010 and he is the help desk with a computer, why wouldn't he look it up. I told him I found it online. Which means he should be able to also. It never even occurred to him to look it up. His only help was steering me in the general direction of where the toners were kept.
